was born in Eritrea and grew up in Germany (Hanover/ Hamburg). Places of study and work were Germany, Italy, USA and France. After working with fashion labels such as XULY BET in Paris and in NYC at the Haute Couturier Manolo, she founded in 2004 her fashion label NEGASSI for transcultural fashion. In 2008 she worked with the German director Detlev Buck as a costume designer for the film "Same Same But Different". After the opening of her Hamburg showroom in summer 2010, the concept of the "NEGASSI EDITION on tour" followed in collaboration with artists such as Ayo, Gary Dourdan, Raul Midon, etc.
In 2016, she co-founded the Artspace M.Bassy in Hamburg. M.Bassy e.V. is an embassy, stage and open salon for encounters with contemporary artistic positions and discourses from Africa and the Diaspora. Through the series of events "More Aphrike", funded by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes (TURN), the Artspace M.Bassy has established itself in Hamburg, Germany and internationally as a place of gathering and networking. 2019 Programme launch of Female Decolonization- The Re-Enactement of Things, which she develops in cooperation with Claude Jansen. In 2020 both women are the founders of COME IN TENT – a transnational Atelier and network for artists, academics and healers.
